Breathing Space London

mindfulness for health

Luke DohertyLuke Doherty

Breathing Space Manager

Luke came to work at the London Buddhist Centre in March 2013, a few months after going on his first meditation retreat and has been meditating ever since. He has found the practice of meditation a powerful tool for developing awareness and emotional positivity.

After graduating in 2009 with a degree in law, Luke started working for a voluntary sector organisation as a support worker for adults with learning disabilities. Luke then became a deputy manager of a service supporting elderly people to live independently in their own homes and, after being awarded a scholarship, he undertook a postgraduate study in Law and Community Leadership. He subsequently became a manager of a care home for adults with Autism. Luke believes strongly in the work of Breathing Space and its aim of helping people learn tools to manage their mental health.

As Breathing Space manager he is the contact for all communications and manages the running and development of the Breathing Space project. He also leads MBSR drop-in sessionsa and retreats for carers.
