Introductory training day in Mindfulness Based Approaches
This Mindfulness Based Approaches (MBA) training day introduces health professionals (and health-profession students) to the theory and practice of using mindfulness to help with mental health-related conditions. The day includes the principles of mindfulness-based cognitive therapy (MBCT) for depression, mindfulness-based relapse prevention (MBRP) for addiction and mindfulness-based stress reduction (MBSR) for stress and anxiety. It will cover the practices of mindfulness and how they work to alleviate a variety of health problems.
MBAR (for Addiction) Training for Health Professionals
A three day training for health professionals in Mindfulness Based Addiction Recovery (MBAR).The training will cover mindfulness and meditative techniques including three minute breathing space, four basic needs of the heart, body scan, and working with difficulties in meditation. MBAR models such as the vicious cycle, fact and interpretation, triggers and high risk situations will be introduced. There will also be personal reflection and rehearsal of parts of the course.
