Breathing Space runs free weekly drop-in sessions for carers in Tower Hamlets on Tuesdays at 11.15am - 12.45pm. These give you the chance to:

  • Try out relaxation and meditation (Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction) in the tranquil environment of the London Buddhist Centre
  • Make new friendships with other carers
  • Enjoy a nice cup of tea!

Do I need to book?

No need to book, just turn up at the London Buddhist Centre: 51 Roman Road, Bethnal Green, London E2 OHU. (Bethnal Green Tube, Roman Road exit, 5 minutes walk to the old fire station on the corner of Roman and Globe Road) Map

What if I am nervous about coming alone?

If you let us know beforehand, we can arrange for you to have a chat with someone on the phone first. A team leader will be happy to meet you a little before the class to show you in and keep an eye on you until you feel settled in the group.

Will I have to reveal myself to strangers?

You will not have to reveal anything you do not want to. Our drop-in sessions are very relaxed and informal.

What is meditation?

The meditation practices we teach involve watching the breath coming in and out of the body and developing a sense of wellbeing. We introduce each practice gently, helping you discover how to calm your mind.
