MBSR course for carers

Breathing Space in partnership with Hackney Council will be funding two MBSR courses for carers living in Hackney. This course has been designed to provide opportunities for carers to learn new ways of learning to deal with stress and difficult emotions in their caring role, as well as meeting and developing relationships with other carers through meeting weekly over 8 weeks.

 

Are you an unpaid carer?  Do you look after a family member or friend who lives in Hackney who needs support because of physical or learning disability, mental illness or whose health is impaired by sickness or old age?

 

Following a carer’s assessment/carer’s review you can sign up to this course with Breathing Space.  You may choose to have your assessment with Hackney Council or through the City & Hackney Carers Centre.MBSR Course for Hackney Carers

 

The course will help you:

  • · Improve health and wellbeing through mindfulness.
  • · Deal with stress and difficult emotions while caring.
  • · Help you have more control over your own life.
  • · Learn practical tools for everyday life.
  • · Learn new ways of handling stress.
  • · The chance to make new friends.
  • · Help tackle social isolation.
  • · Help enrich everyday life.
