MBCT Course
Depression is very common. While it can be treated with medication and psychological therapies, it can easily come back. The good news is that there are ways to help prevent relapse into depression. Clinical research has shown that Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) is one of the best approaches. MBCT is a meditation-based course that helps you become more aware of the habits of thinking that can lead into depression. Breathing Space runs MBCT courses throughout the year.
Weekend Retreat
Breathing Space runs a two-day retreat in the countryside teaching Mindfulness Based Approaches (MBAs) for preventing relapse into depression or reducing stress. These retreats are suitable both for newcomers to MBAs and for people who have completed an Mindfulness course. They can help you learn in a more intensive way the practices and techniques taught on the course.

KBT Course
Kindness Behaviour Training (KBT) is another approach which is helpful for dealing with preventing relapse into depression. This course takes a slighly different approach combining meditation with positive psychology and 'third wave' therapies such as acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) and compassion focused therapy. This course is open to newcomers but is also suitable as a follow-on course for anyone who have completed an MBCT course at Breathing Space.
